2011 : How to Upgrade Your Life As a Teenager

1 . Start by motivating yourself.
If you don't want a better life, you won't get a better life. Depending on your situation, it may be pretty tough. But, anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
2 . Bring in the good stuff.
  • Improve your grades. Good grades help success in life. Even if you have all A's and B's, you should be aiming for all A's. Good grades can help you to be accepted at a college, but there are also plenty of good colleges that accept B and C students. Good grades help boost your self-esteem. But most importantly, striving for better grades will improve your work ethic, which can do wonders with your life.
  • Join a club or play a sport. If you haven't already, join a sports team or club. Do this based on your interests and skills. For example, if you're into Star Wars, join the Sci-Fi club. If you like to swim, join the swim team. Your school should offer tons of clubs and sports, especially if you are in high school. They're there, so get involved.
  • Make new friends. If you join a club or sport, this will happen naturally. You will be surprised with how much you have in common with some kids.
  • Get in shape. If you're not exactly in shape, get in shape. Walk, run, lift weights, or do anything else that gets you huffing and puffing that makes your muscles sore the next morning. You know what sore muscles indicate? Your muscles becoming stronger. A good looking body will also help attract the opposite sex (or the same sex if you are gay).
  • Be yourself. A lot of the time, teens can get caught up with fads and popularity. But, just be you. Wear clothes that you want to wear, not just clothes that your friends are wearing. If your friends are doing something that you don't really want to, don't do it. Be yourself. But, if it is something that will make you a better person, do it. Don't be lazy and take the easy way out.

3 . Get rid of the bad stuff.
  • Stop your bad habits. How do you know if it is a bad habit? If it is, in any way, making it harder for you to achieve the "good stuff."
  • Drop detrimental friends. If your friends are continuing their self-destructive life style, you have to get away from them. It will be very, very hard. But, it is something you have to do. They are a bad influence on you and like a "bad habit" are keeping you from achieving the "good stuff"
4 . Remember to have fun once in a while too.
The teenage years are supposed to be fun. Be sure to choose the right things to do to have fun, though. If you have a bad feeling about something, stop. No excuses; in order to upgrade your life, you have to have a strong will for the better thing. Just remember to not have too much fun and jeopardize your future.
